Multi colors glossy text effect

In this Photoshop tutorial, we will make multi color glossy text in Photoshop.
Difficulty Level: Easy
Estimated Completion Time: 15 minutes

Below is the preview of final image.


Step 1:
Create a new document in photoshop (File >> New). Fill the background with #5e5e5e color.

Step 2:
Select “Text Tool” and type some text in white color. Here I am using PSYAG as text.

Step 3:
Select individual letter one by one and change to different color.


Step 4:
Right click text layer and select blending options. Apply following layer style.

Now our image looks like this.


Step 5:
Press and hold ctrl key and click on the text layer. This will load text layer.


Go to Select >> Modify >> Contact. And contract by 1 px.

Select “rectangular marquee tool” with “intersect with selection”


Select upper half of the selection. Create a new layer and fill it with white color.


Change layer mode to “Soft Light” and opacity to 40%.
Our multi color glossy text is ready.
