Create a 3D swirl background in PhotoShop

In this Photoshop tutorial we will create a 3D swirl background in Adobe Photoshop. Tutorial is very easy and will hardly take 5 minute to create a 3D swirl type background. I will try to explain tutorial in easy words and with images. You can download final PSD file of this tutorial at the end of the tutorial. PSD file is free to use for personal and commercial purpose. However, you are not allowed to distribute or sell the PSD file.

Step 1:

Create a new document. File >> New
Use below settings while creating new document.

Step 2:
Set Following background and foreground color.
Foreground -> #5e6808
Background -> #96a702

Step 3:
Select “Gradient tool” with following settings.

With this gradient setting, press and hold shift key and drag mouse from bottom to top. After applying gradient, the image will look like this:

Step 4:
Now go to Filter >> Distort >> Wave..
Apply following settings.

Step 5:
Now Press “CTRL + F” to re-apply this wave filter again. Keep pressing “CTRL + F” until you get your desired effect. I have pressed “CTRL + F” 30 times.
