Simple method to design a cube in Photoshop

In this Photoshop tutorial, we will design a cube (3D box) using very simple method. PSD file of the tutorial is available for download at the end of tutorial.

Below is the final preview of cube.

Step 1:
Create a new document is photoshp (File >> New) using following settings.

Create a new layer named “First Face”. Select “Rectangle tool”

And hold SHIFT key and draw a square. I have used #bc3e00 color, but you may use any color of your choice.

Now go to Edit >> Transform Path >> Perspective
And drag the right middle point to little up.

Its better to use grid to get better and easier perspective transform. You should get like this.

Step 2:
Create a duplicate layer of “First face” and name it “second face”. With “Second face” layer selected, go to Edit >> Transform Path >> Flip Horizontal. Drag the shape to left side as shown in below image.

Step 3:
Select “First face” layer and apply following layer style to “first face” layer.

Now select “Second face” layer and apply following layer style.

Now you should have like below image.

Step 4:
Create a new layer named “top face”. Select pen tool.

Using pen tool make 4 points as shown in below image.

Right click and select “Fill Path”.

And fill it using color #f18900. Our cube is ready. Below is the final image.
