Design a shining vertical background in Photoshop

In this photoshop tutorial we will design a shining vertical background. Its easy, we will just use some filter to add the vertical shining effect.

Final Preview

Below is the final preview of background that we will design in this tutorial.

Step 1:

Create a new document. You can take any size as per your requirement. Here I am using 500 X 500 px
Fill the layer with color #200000

Step 2:

Set foreground color to #200000 and background color to #be2b2b

Now apply clouds filter from Filter >> Render>> Clouds
So, it looks like this now:

Step 3:

Now we will apply Mosiac filter.
Navigate to Filter >> Pixelate >> Mosiac
and apply with following settings:
Cell Size: 22

Now it looks like this:

Step 4:

Now we will sharpen the image using Filter >> Sharpen >> Sharpen
Press CRTL + F 5-6 times more to re-apply the sharpen effect.
So, it looks like this now:

Step 5:

Now go to Filter >> Blur >> Motion Blur
and apply with Angle: 90 Degree, Distance: 999
Our background image is ready. Below is the final image.
